P: Ability to Auto-Align and Auto-Blend Smart Object layers

Adobe - please provide the ability to auto-align smart objects!  I currently use a 3rd party product from Helicon for focus stacking, and it returns a DNG as part of my raw editing workflow.  It aligns the raw objects as long as they are close enough to fall within configurable alignment parameters.  I prefer to keep this within my Adobe-based workflow.

I can't believe how long this request has languished. Being able to auto align smart layers would be a huge deal, particularly for those of us who prioritize non-destructive workflows.

Smart object are good for all work, so the more abilities the better

Would also like drop shadow is to not be limited to 250 pixels, which is leftover from 1996, and an extremely easy fix that will likely never happen! 

Including linked smart objects would help my work flow a great deal

It should be possible for Auto-Align, and that would indeed be welcome. Transforming is, after all, one of the most important features of smart objects.

However, Auto-Blend cannot possibly work. That requires altering actual image pixel values, and that is not possible with smart objects. That's a fundamental restriction.

It's been years. Let's get smart-objects auto aligned and blended.
