The problem is that if JPG has resolution metadata e.g. 300DPI and my document has 72DPI then Photoshop makes this image smaller according DPI and Smart Object is not 1:1 and doesn't has same size as I need.
"resize image during place" - unchecked

I remember asking about this a couple years ago. I work in pixels much of the time when creating a composite image and not worrying about the print resolution, but do care about the size of the elements in the composite. I was told PS is print-centric and won't work the way we're asking it to since, of course, pixels have no actual physical size without knowing the ppi of the file.

My feeling is I'm not working with an actual physical document. Not yet. I know the dimensions are, say, 420 pixels X 380, and the document size is, say 3300 X 2550, so I want the object to occupy 420 pixels of that document in width. Seems simple to me. Apparently I'm wrong about that. <BG>
