That's that, a simple remove, even with a right click would do.

I hate to be following this thread for this time and no one there cares. It's what happens when you engage in building multiple useless apps on top of those that users actually work with regularly.

More than happy to add my voice yet again to this request.  It's a real irritation to have all those multiple and out of date files in the recents panel.  PLEASE fix this, finally.

Just here to add another voice to this request. To the good folks at Adobe: After all this time, please do something about it! We all transitioned to your subscription service, instead of owning each version of the application, in the hopes that your more regular updates would solve this exact kind of issue. Your move!

That would surely work.  It surely can't be all that difficult to do.   Thanks.

Gail, I think it could be easily handled if the right click context menu said something like “Unpin from recents.” Then there is no confusion between unpinning and deleting.

I’m still hoping for some action on this topic!

Is this your suggestion for how it ought to/might work?  That's not entirely clear, to me at least.  Certainly, one should just be able to right click on a file in list or grid in  PS Home and hit the delete key to "remove" it, as one does in LR.  There would have to be a disconnect or cut-out between PS and one's catalog (LR or CR) in order that the photo not be removed also from the catalog.

Keep it simple and consistent with the way you select files in Windows File Explorer. After opening the Recent File List

1. Right Click on a file.

       Select option: Remove from Recent.

2. Ctrl + Click

Select files whether continuous or not by holding the Ctrl key down as you click.

After you are done selecting, Right Click & Select option: Remonve from Recent.

3. Shift + Click

Select a set of continuous files by holding the Shift key down and then clicking

on the first file in the set. Then scroll down to the last file in the set you want

to remove and while still holding the Shift key click on it. The selected set will

      be highlighted.

Right click on the selected set and Select: Remove from Recents.

4. Enhance #3

Allow individual files in the set you want to remove from Recents by

      Ctrl + Click on them.

We all seem to be whistling in the wind, but thanks for your comment, which is right on.

I'm surprised that this is still not implemented, based on how often it seems to pop up.

This very small feature would be huge for both privacy and reducing clutter.

I stream or screen share Photoshop on a regular basis, and there are certain projects (such as secret updates I want to keep from my community) or personal photos (family portraits) that I simply don't want to accidentally reveal.

This leaves me with a couple of options, manually change the file location so that Photoshop deletes it from the Recents list, or hide my screen while opening files, and hope that photoshop doesn't crash to the starting screen.

Both of which are more of a pane than they should be. 😜

Frequently, not at all, I'm afraid.  But they're always talking about changes because "so many of you have requested it," so maybe the occcasional request penetrates.
