P: Full version app for Apple iPad Pro

I have an old Core i7 laptop that runs Lightroom CC and Photoshop just fine. My iPad Pro is single core just as fast as the i7 and multicore the i7 is twice as fast, but it also has two cores more. (Source: Geekbench) My laptop has 8 GB of memory and the iPad Pro 12.9 4 GB of memory. I can't see that hardware is an issue, basically the iPad Pro is far better then the minimum specs for Photoshop CC.

The Lightroom Mobile app is absolutely a great app. To be honest, I prefer it over Lightroom CC because of the great and intuitive user interface and I can edit my photos lying on the couch... Or in the middle of nowhere. 🙂 It still misses functions of the CC version and I most miss the great HDR and Panorama function of Lightroom CC in Lightroom Mobile. BTW Lightroom Mobile is also a very good app for shooting RAW pictures with your iPhone.

...But there simply is NO replacement on iOS for Photoshop CC. I almost tested all Photo apps free and paid. But there isn't. None. Noppes. Nada. You guys and girls at Adobe have a great opportunity. Again, please bring Photoshop CC to iOS. Don't miss out!

I want to be able to use all my brushes and filters while I'm doing digital drawing on my IPadPro. I hate that I seriously have to consider buying a Surface Pro for drawing, just to use Photoshop. Is creating  a full program for iOS impossible? I wasn't overly impressed with what we learned at the last Adobe Max, I feel like we're not getting what honestly need--not everyone is creating web applications (I do, but I could care less about that--its not that challenging with current tools) 

Okay so here's my take on this - there are TONS of photo editing apps out there already for iOS. Based on what apps are currently offered by Adobe for iOS, you guys have just developed a lot of apps to do what all the other photo editing apps out there currently do. Probably better, but still the same things. The people who WANT to use your programs and apps don't want a photo editor that can make someone's hair blue or whatever. We want powerful editing capabilities on the go. We want the options of batch processing our RAW images because working on a tablet is much more convenient and appealing than working at desktop or on a laptop without TOUCH capabilities. You guys are seriously missing out on a HUGE market and losing current clients by not figuring out how to make this work with iOS faster. The current direction of the market is moving toward touch and on-the-go work. Please please please help us get there faster! Thank you!!

Of all the peripheral apps that evolved from Photoshop, not one of the Adobe apps features the filters which are native to Photoshop desktop versions since the beginning. Specifically, photocopy filter and trace contour filters. Any and all knockoffs just don't compare. Id like to see that feature for my iPad.

The iPad Pro and iPhone 7 run circles around the newest Intel Atoms and Celerons that can run Photoshop CC. It is as fast the older Broadwell i5 and i7 CPUs. (Check geekbench.) These Apple devices are really powerfull! It is not a question of hardware IMHO. It is a question of Adobe seeing a market and taking the newest iPad devices with pencils seriously and most importantly take me as a photographer-on-the-go serious!

Look, I love Adobe for the Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC and the Lightroom Mobile app on the iPad, but the other Photoshop Apps on iPad are lacking some serious functions IMHO. To be honest, I hate Adobe for killing the Photoshop Touch app - the closest thing we had to Photoshop CC on Mobile!

What I would love to see: the Photoshop apps on iPad get full DNG support, so you could edit your photos straight from Lightroom Mobile in Mix or Fix, without converting to JPG. I would love to see better layer blending and masking in Photoshop Mix, i.e. luminousity masks, gradient masks, etc., because I like to shoot bracketed. I would also love a HDR and Panorama stitching function in Lightroom Mobile. This all would prevent me from hauling my heavy Windows laptop with me when I am out shooting photos.

Come on, Adobe! Embrace this new mobile opportunity! There is a gap that needs to be filled!

I'm in exactly the same boat! What did you end up getting?

I bought an iPad pro for my wife, she mostly surfs the web, does email, watches video, plays games and such. Although she was a photographer in the air force she has since given it up, so I don't see the iPad getting a lot of heavy use. But, as a lap top alternative it kicks BUTT. Super fun.
I however, am a retoucher, illustrator, etc. and I needed something I could take out of town that was beefy-isa. I just bought a refurbished Surface Pro 3 (i7 chip, 8gigs ram, 512g memory). It's a nice little machine and it can keep me up to date on my smaller clients. 
I would RATHER have been able to use an iPad Pro. It's a nicer piece of equipment and I'm not a huge fan of the microsoft OS. I've messed around with the iPad Pro and the drawing is REALLY good. You'd need a Wacom Mobile Studio to beat it (but those are 3k$). But, there's not enough Photoshop available on the iPad Pro. 
There might be a Photoshop alternative: Affinity Photo. Affinity also makes a Vector Design program (like Illustrator or Inkspace), and a layout program (like In Design). If all that becomes available and useable, then that'd be my #2 option. But, adobe... c'mon! We could do real work with Photoshop CS ten years ago. The iPad Pro isn't as capable as a 10 year old laptop? Seriously. I understand if you had to drop some bigger features (3D  or ArtBoards), maybe scale back to a previous photoshop, but you could make a Photoshop CiOS. Heck, you've already made them. Dust one off, port it over and see what you get.

Hi Bradee, I was looking at purchasing an iPad Pro for the sole purpose of photo editing (I spend as much time editing photos as many people spend gaming). After researching and discovering that the iPad Pro will not run a full desktop version of Elements I'm seeking other options. I'll still be purchasing Elements 14 but the Apple product will not be the iPad Pro -  I was so looking forward to using the new pencil. sigh. I will likely get the desktop Mac, if it isn't going to be portable and touch screen friendly I might as well get the largest screen I can for editing when I'm at home. I really wanted something the size of the 27inch iPad Pro so I could do on-the-go editing since I have a lot of travel/down time during the day and I don't really get into gaming or watching shows. I am also less inclined to get on the computer at the end of the day - so I'll do less editing with a desktop machine but if its the only option... I hope Apple/Adobe can provide a full version on at least one of the portable platforms in the near future, they are losing the growing amateur photography market.

Again, an iPad Pro is still just an iPad (aka: a large phone without phone service) and cannot run desktop software.

I'm a photographer and I just got the iPad Pro and the pencil, I was really dissapointed to find out there's no way to edit professional images with my newly bought iPad Pro and pencil. I have a PC which is why the astropad isn't an option for me. A Pro Photoshop version for iPad Pro is very much needed!
