P: Move tool doesn't ignore adjustment layer in 16 Bit like it does in 8 Bit

Came across this in Photoshop 23.0.0 / Windows 10 -

In an 8 bit PSD file the move tool "knows" to ignore selecting adjustment layers, while in the same file at 16 bit it keeps selecting the adjustment layers. This is true to both clipping mask and stand alone adjustment layers. It does not select the Adjustment layers in 16 bit if: no layer mask or when the layer mask attached to it has something drawn on it. Very frustrating when compositing hundreds of layers.

Does anyone have a work around?

*Maybe this was already in older versions - I worked on 2019 until few days ago and don't remember running into this.

The discussion is a feature request, a suggestion for an enhancement to Photoshop.

consistency - yes. How do we turn this into an idea for a fix in the near future?

Hi, I agree that consistency would help, or a preference setting to pick one of the two behaviours...

Looks like that behaviour goes all the way back to photoshop cs (photoshop version 8), the first photoshop version to support layers in 16 Bit/Channel bit depth.
