P: Please let us change the Pen tool path size and color

Thanks. I'm sure this will come up again with someone, maybe even me, since sometimes that gets turned off for no apparent reason. Mostly it's not a problem—99.9% of the time here— but occasionally, there's a hiccup when PS tries to decide if my GPU is any good or not.

Yes it was just clicking that box in preferences. Preferences - performance - to right of box - check mark "use graphics processor. Thanks again for the solution Ron

Are you saying it was not having the GPU preference enabled that was preventing you from being able to set the Pen tool's preferences? It would help us all to troubleshoot in the future if we know if that's a potential issue.

After a mere 8 years, the Pen Tool can be adjusted. Nice to have the adjustment in a toolbar, as well as in Preferences. Now, let's have the options in a Contextual Menu! Thank you, Adobe (finally).

You're not working with the Pen tool or one of its relatives (freeform, curvature)? What tool are you using?

none of these ideas work and I have the latest version on cc. All these ideas are greyed out. one try was shape vs. path, I can get the wider outline with shape not with path. Adobe says I can't change the width of selection tool. If there is a work around I would love to find. I've tried adding adjustment layer and pushing to the extreme, might help in some circumstances but I would love to find a real solution.

Thanks for the advice. When I contacted Adobe they said I couldn't make it larger. I will try these suggestions. Hopefully were on the same page communication wise.
