I was wondering if Adobe released any Photoshop versions for Linux? Because I looked everywhere in Adobe's site but I could not find any information.

not trying to beat a dead horse here but thats basically what we have to do at this point to try and get ANY attention driven to this. its really sad that this topic is four years old and during AskAdobeCare this is where i got told to go. really adobe? four years old and you still havent seen that there is a fair amount of interest in having your product on an open platform. i would even be willing to pay a little more per month on my CC subscription if it meant i could have a linux version that was actively worked on. even if it didnt get the latest updates right away, just get a version working there. start with that. release a freaking trimmed free version to work out some bugs we all know that you are going to have. and let us help you develop the product we want.

@3721442

That would be great, but i already pay 19,99 euro monthly for Photoshop and Lightroom and still cant install these apps on my favourite OS 'cause of Adobe politic. I understand that business is business, but how i can be loyal to Adobe company if they piss on my needs?

I use Aftershot Pro 2 instead of Lightroom 'cause Corel have made Linux version some time ago. If they port Paintshop on Linux i will drop Adobe products.

Lightroom-> Corel Aftershot Pro 2/Darktable(for regular user)
Premiere-> Lightworks
Photoshop-> Paintshop(?)

Why not say adobe to place a pre-order for photoshop for linux to see how many people would buy it, and if they see for example 100'000 people would buy it, after they can develop it and pay their cost.

What do you think ? A kind like the ubuntu-phone has done

@Chris Cox:

Mac vs GNU/Linux - 9,6% vs 5,3%

https://www.humblebundle.com/

Average Windows: $7.89
Average Mac: $9.91
Average Linux: $10.93

We are professionalists(most of us are coders), whose use professional operating system. We have high payment and we know how to buy software.

You can suport only Ubuntu like Valve.

Windows Phone 8 has 1,9% now but you bring them mobile PS 😉

Would like to divorce myself from Windows and OSx entirely but I can't because CC only works with those OS interfaces. If CC can port the OSX version over to a gnome shell, we could build/buy more capable machines at a fraction of the cost to do some great things. Like get better lenses.

Thank you Micheal! I had no idea that Corel Aftershot Pro existed for Linux! I just tested the trial version and bought it right away... it works fantanstic on xubuntu 14.04!

As an IT Consultant, I've had so many complaints from many of my SMB customers about having a good viable commercial image cataloging & RAW format editing application for the layman on linux desktops, and now I have something to show them!

Cheers & Thanks Again!!!!

When is Photoshop and Premiere coming to Linux? I know more and more people are switching to Linux.. which really SHOULD be the default platform for creatives/artists.

I think that the reality on such decisions looks inverese to the plain market oriented and profitability approach of marketeers.

I think Linux doesn't flourish because players like Adobe don't decide to support it properly. If Adobe decided to support it the plattform would get a big boost. So things are little different. If adobe pushed linux, it could go through the roof.

People are deciding against Linux (at least me) because their tools won't work with it.
Look over to valve or google. I'm sure at some point there won't be any more the question of supporting Linux or not. I'd love to see Adobe pioneering a little more ;-)

Never the less I'm sure we can safely trust the obvious fact that Microsoft is hiding their absurd incompetence when it comes to writing operating systems, or at least keeping up with their competition. There's parts of windows 8 which still seem to be relicts from Win 98 also no profound file-system and an ugly, slow, clumpy and big intransparent overall architecture. They're digging their own grave if they don't slim that beast down.

Two options:
1. Windows dies at some point and nobody notices because all people switched to more advanced competition.
2. Windows somehow faces its problems, slims that s#@t down and gets their system back on track. (still losing market share due to outstanding and advancing alternatives)

Both ways include happier customers and Adobe at some point reconsidering their Linux strategy ;-)

Big cheeers.
