Dear Adobe team, you must see there is a growing demand for big file use in Photoshop. It is nice, that we have the possibility to save as PSB, but most other tools which i have to work with do not support PSB nor PSD. While Photoshop can read, open and edit BigTiff files, it is unable to save them. We are almost at the and of 2020, please make this a possibility. There are tools out there, that can do math operations Photoshop can not. Aswell as there is Photoshop, that can do things the other tools are unable to. Please connect this by allowing to save with the BigTiff file format. It would certainly expand the possibilities of what we can do with your software.

@chokri_KEFI Choose TIFF as the file format to Save As and then, in the dialogue that follows, tick 'Use BigTIFF format'.

I also just verified this on a photomerge of a large art installation that made a 7GB file with LZW compression.

Big TIFF is an option in the TIFF save dialogue in the current version 26.8.1. Use Save as and select TIFF to see the dialogue.  I just tested it and saved, and then re-opened, a 12GB Tiff file.
Note : I use Windows 11, I can't test on Mac

I've saved several files as BigTiff in Photoshop recently, unless I've lost my mind, which is possible. I sometimes do very high resolution work that exceeds 4GB in file size, and I don't need to have all the features of a psb, so I save as a BigTiff. I only started using that format very recently.

At the Ohio State University Libraries, we would also love to see BigTiff support. It would be very useful for us when creating large tiled files of artwork.

I also really need this feature for working with large planetary heightmaps and performing image processing on them.
