P: Support scalable user interface UI for high resolution monitors

I'm using a high resolution monitor(2560x1600). As a result, all the the toolbar fonts and menu fonts are small and hard to see. I do not want to lower the screen resolution as this would defeat the purpose of this monitor.. Will the new CS6 have the ability to increase font sizes to accommidate Hi-Res monitors?

Thanks

David - but the UI scaling is a new feature, and not even remotely a bug fix. It isn't something that could rationally be considered for older versions.

Photoshop is not an online service. Photoshop CC has some network services, if you want to use them, but you don't have to use them. You need to get online every few weeks or months to verify the subscription, and check for updates, but that's it. I'm not sure who told you incorrectly that it was an online service.....

David, I like your logic. The negative for me was that I am a starving artist and the cost for cs7 and 8, even the upgrade price was a car payment. If Chris is right and there is no reason for me not to believe him, then maybe the subscription is really the way to go. At least we would be able to see our menus in Photoshop when working on a Surface Pro 3.

Chris, I apologize if I was mistaken about the subscription versus purchase of the software. So what you are telling me is that once I subscribe and install cc 2014, that I never have to go on the internet again when updating, saving or working on my art. And I do not have to be connected to use the software, is that right? By the way, thank you for responding so quickly, it is appreciated.

Chris,
I think Robert is expressing a understanding consistent among your customers writing on these pages that UI scaling is not a feature but rather a "bug fix" that Adobe might consider applying to CS6 as well.
I would venture a guess that the majority of us expressing these concerns would have happily bought the two major upgrades since CS6 but for a variety of (ethical, philosophical and other) reasons are not willing to participate in the subscriptions model.
With kind regards,
David

No, CS6 does not have the UI scaling features added in Photoshop CC 2014.
That is a new feature in Photoshop CC 2014, and will not be ported back (two major versions!) to Photoshop CS6

I'm not sure what you mean by "off line" or data cost, since Photoshop CC still runs on your desktop just like Photoshop CS6.

Chris, I have read all of the posts and I'm not sure anything can be done for my version of Photoshop CS6. However, I find it interesting that when downloading the test product of CC, every thing works as it should. My question is can't we get a copy of the experimental program in the preference menu and install it in CS6. The reason is that we grew up not spending a lot of money on being online and having our own program allows us to perform our tasks "off line" unlike you current adoption of CC where we have to pay a monthly fee and then pay additional money for the data to use the product. I use Photoshop 10 to 17 hours a day and have been doing that for over 20 years. I would be bankrupt if I had had to pay the data cost. We really need a fix and since you already have one with CC 2014 I don't understand why that would be a problem.

It's all just to get people to buy the CC. Or excuse me, rent it. I just downloaded CS6 design and web premium. I was so happy to get this version, so I can actually own the software.

Come to find out, the UI is so small, you cant even see it. It makes everything take twice as long, hunting for your tool. Plus I don't like to have my face 7 inches from the screen. My hand should be the closest thing to the computer. (Darrrrr Darr Darrrrr)

We are all forced to squint and stick our stupid faces right up to the screen? At least my hand is right there so I can face palm myself.

I think I'm going to replace the rearview mirror in my car with a telescope. Should be fine.

This issue so infuriates me that a company as big and trusted as Adobe can not make a product customers with a HiRes monitor can see. If you can make a workaround for Photoshop CC, why can't if be made for Bridge and ACR? Different teams, right???? So tired of that lame answer.

The request is to be able to SEE the fonts!!!! This is not rocket science.
