P: Support scalable user interface UI for high resolution monitors

I'm using a high resolution monitor(2560x1600). As a result, all the the toolbar fonts and menu fonts are small and hard to see. I do not want to lower the screen resolution as this would defeat the purpose of this monitor.. Will the new CS6 have the ability to increase font sizes to accommidate Hi-Res monitors?

Thanks

I would ask for a refund and tell them why.

There is a thread on Photoshop elements that shows Adobe has been aware of the issue with high resolution displays for at least 3 years. That's correct THREE years. They claimed then and still claim today that they are working on the issue, but that claim is no longer credible.

Curiously they have addressed the issue in Lightroom. Makes me think that the problem is too expensive to fix in the Photoshop products. They aren't going to fix it unless a drop in sales hits them where it hurts; in their pocketbook.

Yeah, thanks for the quick response Nick, and for pointing out this thread I also have a new Lenovo Yoga 2, oh well. Resolution in DPI is insane, which I thought would be perfect for adding Photoshop to my workflow.

The menu text is small on all programs, Chrome, Word, Excel, etc. It's small, but I can still read it. But on Photoshop and Bridge it is really bad. I haven't measured it, but the menu text is about 0.1", possibly smaller. I have tried using Window's magnifier, but it kind of defeats the purpose of being able to see what happens to the picture.

I remember similar problems back in the 80's & 90's, as we transitioned through video standards. I won't use a 30" monitor today because of the same problem.

Live and learn. If I knew the fix was imminent I guess I hold out some hope. I would've thought a company like Adobe would've anticipated this issue, especially in this day and age. At most I'm only out $10 bucks.

Refund. Adobe has known about this for at least a year and has not even been bothered to comment on it.

I just started my subscription with Photoshop CC only to discover an issue with nearly unusable menus and icons with my 3200 x 1800 DPI laptop screen (Lenovo Yoga 2), running Windows 8.1 Pro. Reading responses in the forums, it looks like this is a known problem (last thread late 2013). I've already paid for a month. My question is, Will this be fixed before the month is up, or should I ask for a refund?

COME ON ADOBE. ARE YOU REALLY GOING TO DIFFERENTIATE YOUR CC SUITE BY ALIENTATING YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS? INTERFACE TOO SMALL ON HI-RES MONITORS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR YEARS!

I just purchased a new 13" laptop to run Photoshop CS6 and it came with a 2500 DPI display which is absolutely useless. If I turn the DPI down in windows, Photoshop just ignores the setting so there is no way to run it. Oh except upgrading to CC and pay more. REALLY ADOBE!!! You are supposed to be the text, font, and interface experts. What went wrong? How did you loose your way and disenfranchise your base? Stop coddling your CC cash cows and pay attention.

Oh, and a family site? No profanity allowed? There is no profanity here, just you hiding behind a un-resourced development team.

Just wanted to throw my name into the hat. Trying out Photoshop CC on my Yoga 2 Pro, and running into the same problems already documented here. Here's hoping MS and Adobe can work this out. Until then, I'm sticking with Photoshop 7, which doesn't have this problem.

I gave this fix a try on my Lenovo Yoga2 Pro. I changed the registry entry as directed and then created a "PhotoshopElements 11.0.exe.manifest" file (using the Photoshop.exe.manifest from the link provided edited to replace the file names accordingly) and placed it in the same directory as "PhotoshopElements 11.0.exe'. I am sad to report that this seems to have no effect on the menu/text sizes in the Photoshop Elements user interface on my 3200x1800 screen. Any suggestions?

I just received a Lenovo Yoga2 Pro with the QHD screen (3200x1800) and the miniscule text and menus in Photoshop Elements is driving me nuts. Does this fix with Windows 8.1? The knowledge base article from Microsoft says it only applies to Windows Server 2003. If it does work with Windows 8.1, will it work with Photoshop Elements too (i.e., can I just use the Photoshop.exe.manifest file or will it need to be adapted to Photoshop Elements)? Thank you for any assistance.

Hi Chris,
Ok, but if for PC the issue is more Microsoft's side, is it better with Mac?
And about another subject, can you share to Illustrator dev team, the "contrain editing path" option code?
They have changed the editing curve tool behavior and it's awful and completely unusable...
Thanks

The issues here are not over some set of assumptions, mine or those of others as well. The facts are self evident in Adobe’s non-performance over the last year coupled with its 'monkey-pass' to Microsoft. The claim that a scalable UI is not available in windows is a pile of baloney; "Framework" APIs are there, ready for Adobe programming staff to use! Even if you were to build the UI menus from scratch, using only one competent programmer; surely, it would not take a year of his/her time to accomplish that mission.
