PhotoShop 7.0.1 is my workhorse - feedback for Adobe

This is feedback for Adobe, since it offers no direct contact point, other than a less-than-useful chatbot.

I started with PS4, then upgraded to PS5 and PS7.  PS7 has been my workhorse for about 20 years, used for photography, artwork, drafting, book figures, and all the patent drawings in 9 granted U.S. patents, starting with 9,401,134 (2016).  The only thing I would add to it would be output formats for CNC routers and laser cutters, and versions for current computers.  Since my work is proprietary, I want nothing to do with the Cloud.  Currently, I've moved my work from a Dell 755 to a 2023 Apple M2 Mac mini, using CrossOver.  PS7 runs a bit slow on it, and misses a few tricks, like the right click on the image margin to get "image size".  For my current book illustrations I primarily use paths, ruler, guides, fill and line tools, text inserts, level and color balance adjustments, CNTL-T tools to adjust for phone camera misalignment, blur and sharpen tools, image size and rotation, sometime clone stamp to get rid of dust marks, and I forget what else.  I keep three copies for my book illustrations: the original camera image; the corrected, cropped & unsized image in PSD; and insert a flattened, reduced-size JPG image into the chapter text.  I tend to use JPGs and PNGs for a WordPress site online.

I might be more interested in a $9.99 subscription if it came with the choice of a classic PS7 GUI.  I ran the current trial PS and found the GUI unfamiliar.  It takes time to learn a new GUI, and my life hasn't got so much left.  I also think that Adobe is missing a bet in not selling an inexpensive stand-alone package for current computers, based on PS7, geared towards basic photo edits, accurate drawing tools and CNC-compatible output files.

DO you know why the PS7 is saving jpeg files which end up unreadable?

Pardon me,  "color balances that shift when you save"

According to https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/using/tools.html, Elements does not have path tools.  Nor do I see guidelines or the measure tool, all necessary for 2-D drafting, as in USPTO patent drawings.

Well, when you get to be 77 years old, you too may find that learning new things is nowhere near as easy as it used to be.  When Borland came out with Quattro Pro back when, they had a Q123.bat starter file that made the GUI work like Lotus 1-2-3.  That made it a lot easier.  When I just want to get work done, I don't need anything extra to stumble over.  A setting for the classic PS7 GUI would be a big help.  Otherwise, I'll put up with the slower response.  If I want to learn something new, I could just as well choose GIMP or Inkscape.  But I appreciate that Adobe usually builds solid SW, with few unnecessary surprises, like tools that don't work, or color balances that don't shift when you save.

Hi @Don31611319s1gd you are correct in your assertion that the GUI has changed with more recent versions of Photoshop, but you have to understand PS7 is over 20 years old. I'm not even sure how you managed to get it to run on a new M2 Mac Mini without some major corruption issues.

As for your comment about Adobe missing a bet - have you considered looking at Photoshop Elements? It does most if not all that you described in your post and it's a stand alone cost. No cloud, no subscription.
