Photoshop: Ability to use middle mouse button as hand tool

It's nearly 2024, and this excellent feature still hasn't been implemented. Adobe should be ashamed.

In fact, it is something so standard in every other graphic software that it should ne considered almost a bug in Photoshop.

That has been something beyond the comprehension of Photoshop users for over thirty years!

I have a fresh install of Photoshop, and the middle button does nothing.  I have the overscroll option checked, but that shouldn't have anything to do with the middle button since that option is just about being able to scroll around past where the document borders end.

This is frustrating because the middle button for panning is the default behavior in Illustrator!

now when you hold down the middle mouse wheel it will pan around in photoshop 

make sure you have over scroll is on in photoshop   Preferences / Tools

if you have G502 or similar mouse you can create a macro to fix this problem!!!

why is this still not a shortcut yet, why do i need to have to download an external app for something so simple

@artofwalls40000 OH!, I feel you... I'm starting to believe that the team working on developing Photoshop are working on Mac devices that does not have support for middle-mouse buttons in their development environment, hence why they are unable to add the feature!, they have no way to map something to middle-mouse button...

However, my script (the one with the delay between presses) is working like charm since then, and IMHO is even better than the ones that map to H key! as the Space+Left-Click behavior makes sense than holding H+Left-Click, but that is just me, to each their own.

But I still totally support the idea of having this feature internally implemented in Photoshop, who knows!, maybe the developers will add it to their new year's resolution and add it to Photoshop, and make their customers happy for 2021. 🙂
