Photoshop: Bring back Precise cursor without white border

White border around crosshair cursor (for CS6) was not a good idea.

Not only does sub-pixel rendering make it look like the black is bleeding into the white, but the cursor is now essentially 3px thick, making pixel-perfect selections at 100% much more difficult / less agile.

Can there be an option to go back to the previous cursor that would simply invert portions of the crosshair based on what was directly under the cursor?

Another vote to at least make the old behavior (no outline, invert over dark colors) a preference.

I don't understand the lack of outcry on this - it's almost as if very few Photoshop users actually edit at the 100% zoom level. Meaning, I imagine the typical user is in a constant pattern of: zoom in, select/pan/operation, zoom out, view, zoom in, pan/select/operation, zoom out, view. I have very good vision, fine motor skills, and highly precise mouse movements - so when I edit for the web or generally low res items, I like to work at 100%. But the white border around the cursor has shaved off precious milliseconds every time I have to do/redo a selection that failed to be pixel-perfect at 100% because of the fat 3px cursor. Harrumpff!

Still not fixed in CC. And by 'fixed', I mean, there's still no cursor options to remove or alter the white border.

I didn't say they look the same, but that they both have a white outline, which wasn't there in CS4 or previously. The cursor in CS6 is larger than the one in CS5 (the bars of the cross hairs are longer), the corners are more squarish, and there is an overall embossing feel to it.

I want the white border gone, too.

This actually started in CS5.

But I'm with you on this one, in CS4 and previous, there was no outline, the cursor would just dark over light colors and invert over dark colors.

Changing this to a feature request (Idea).
