Photoshop Mobile: Ability open/import pdf files

After selecting import/open and navigating to my pdf that I want to open the files are all grayed out and I cannot select them. It appears that Photoshop Mobile doesn’t support opening PDFs. I find this hard to believe, so please let me know if it’s something I’m doing wrong. If not, I would hope Adobe adds this feature very quickly.

Are you serious? Why on Earth? I sincerely don't understand Adobe's (and everyone else's, to be fair) contempt for mobile devices. "What random features shall we cut from mobile apps today?! Roll the wheel! Aaaand... it's pdf import! Next time we'll lock jpg export quality on low because mobile devices are toys!"

And the marketing goes something like, "Works just like Photoshop, because it is." . . . what a load of rubbish - i can't even open a PDF!

We are also having the same issue right now and I spoke to a customer service representative from Adobe and he said that Photoshop for iPad does not support PDF for iPad as of now and that you can only work on PDF in desktop version of application. 😞 So unfortnately it isn't possible. Shahid is the name of the CSR guy I have spoken to.

Adobe usually does not comment on future developments, but they confirmed that Photoshop on iPad will get a lot of new features in the coming updates. I don’t think they specified what exactly will be added and when, however. I do not know of any workarounds other than converting the PDF to a format that can be read.

On the full version of Photoshop I am able to directly import PDF files, though the iPad version does not have this feature.  I need to be able to either edit, or incorporate into documents I’m creating in Photoshop, PDF files with Photoshop.  Are there plans to incorporate this feature into the iPad version?  If not, is there a simple workaround?

Yes, I’m referring to Photoshop on the iPad. I need to access PDF files and be able to manipulate with the tools that Photoshop has to offer.

Johan, I believe he is referring to Photoshop on the iPad, which currently doesn't support PDF file format. Instead Adobe is promoting a new 'Cloud Document' file format, which is compatible with Photoshop on the iPad, XD, Fresco, and Aero.

AFAIK, no version of Lightroom supports the PDF file format. While it can of course contain images, PDF is not an image file format.
