Photoshop Preferences: select default "Save a Copy" output format.

I want to reduce unnecessary key strokes when using PS.

I'd like to be able to specify a default output format (.JPG for example) for the "Save a Copy" command.

99.9% of the time, I'm saving as a JPG file and have to search through a long list and select it every time.

If you think this will be useful, please upvote.

Unless you have specific requirements to retain all metadata, I suggest that you configure Quick Export:

https://helpx.adobe.com/au/photoshop/using/export-artboards-layers.html#export-as

Otherwise, a script can default the Save As process:

Installed scripts can have custom keyboard shortcuts, Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts.

Hi @Hawkeye69 It's a good idea for many users, so I'll vote! Meanwhile, for Windows users like you and me, there is this little time-saving method: After File > Save As, hit the Tab key once to jump to the “Save as type” line, then press “J” to bring up JPG.
