Okay so you need to choose the Save a Copy to save the file into another file format other than, .PSD..etc.. It's such an UX annoyance to place the Revert option next to Save a Copy option.

Did they intend to place it there to cost us more time while/during saving files? Because it's very effective. XD

Please place the "revert" somewhere else.. thank you.

Hi

You can do this yourself (just like Dorothy who always had the power to go back to Kansas 😊)

  • Edit > Menus > Application menus > File menu > click the eyeball to hide Revert from the File menu
  • Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts > Application menus > File menu > delete the F12 shortcut

Save your customized keyboard shortcuts and menus before you close the dialog boxes.

If you accidentally revert, you can simply hit cmd/ctrl z undo. No dataloss occurs when you revert unless you close your document after you revert.

If you want, you can also hide the Revert command in the Edit > Menus... dialog.
