Please re-write the wave filter

The wave filter is extremely hard to use, you get a tiny preview and the results vary greatly depending on whether you are working on a smart document vs large.

Actually, it's impossible to acheive the same results on a larger document than you can on a small one due to the filter values being pixel based.

I am not contesting the validity of your request but I think you may want to look into alternatives, possibly the Displace Filter.

There are a bunch of old Filters (Displace actually among them, but also Radial Blur for example) which I would say don’t meet current expectations for interface, previews, … but unless the demand for their improvement is significant I doubt the expenditure in resources will be made soon.

I have a 300dpi A1 size document, I'm trying to run a wave filter on a smart object containing text.

The tiny preview inside the wave filter dialog box looks completely nothing like the result since I hit OK. It's not even close.

Why?
