Pointless 'pay-check validation' Feature

Am I the only one who finds the 'saving in progress' (flow-interruption) dialogue box extremely annoying and pointless? What was wrong with just quietly continuing, like every other app in the universe. And does this actually affect the progress of the save, even slightly, I wouldn't be surprised, these days...

Why. If it's already saving, you don't need to save it again immediately after, and therefore don't need to know that your save command was unsuccessful in such a scenario. I'm not talking about genuine save errors here. I'm talking about being told about something that's already happening.
