polygonal lasso Undo close?

It's been three decades.  Can we add an undo function to the last click, say if the lasso gets closed by accident?  Or say, I'm in the middle of trimming the lasso and I get a phone call that fwds to my laptop - work gone.  Or if I accidentally click outside of the work area... work gone.  I've lost so much time re-doing the work on the lasso tool becuase of silly things like this. 
No, the pen/path tool doesn't always work for what I need (and it's been super buggy).

Can we add the UNDO function to the lasso tool please?
