Professional/Desktop Workspace Mode for Photoshop on iPad
I would strongly suggest adding an optional Professional/Desktop Workspace Mode to Photoshop on iPad.
As a long-time desktop Photoshop user, I find the current iPad interface unnecessarily limiting, especially considering the processing power and screen capabilities of modern iPads.
I would like the option to use:
- Multiple open documents displayed as tabs at the top.
- A desktop-style menu bar with direct access to Image, Layer, Select, Filter, View, etc.
- Dockable and customizable panels.
- Faster access to filters and advanced editing tools.
- A customizable workspace that can resemble, or ideally sync with, a user’s Photoshop desktop workspace.
- Full support for keyboard, trackpad, and Apple Pencil workflows.
The current touch interface could remain as the default, while Professional/Desktop Mode could be optional for users who prefer a more complete Photoshop experience.
With increasingly capable AI-powered creative tools offering fast and accessible workflows, I believe Photoshop’s greatest competitive advantage is its professional depth, precision, and control. Simplifying the iPad version too much reduces that advantage.
The iPad is now capable of being a serious professional creative workstation. Photoshop for iPad should allow users to take full advantage of that capability.
Thank you for considering it.
