red eye removal

Make the red eye removal tool able to be done in an empty layer.

I teach Photoshop and we try to do everything nondestructively so we can always go back to the original. The red eye tool seems to be the only "retouching tool" that isn't able to be done in a new layer. It has to be done on a layer with pixel content, which means the background layer has to be duplicated. Tools like the healing brush and the clone stamp can be done in a new layer just by changing an option on the top bar to "sample all layers".

The tool would require a setting for "sample all layers" similar to the healing brush or clone stamp.

OK, that would speed up copying just the eyes to a new layer, before using the tool. Non-destructive, but not in the general sense as defined by adjustment layers. Adjustment layers are designed for non-destructive use above pixel layers, but would need a mask.
