Requested Improvements for photoshop tools and interface
Hello Adobe Photoshop Team,
I would like to share some suggestions and feedback that could improve the workflow and user experience inside Photoshop, especially for designers who work daily on social media and branding projects.
1. Text resizing behavior:
When resizing text using the transform box, Photoshop switches to Move Tool behavior and creates a larger transform box around the text. This makes resizing feel indirect and requires extra steps. It would be much better if text resizing worked more directly and smoothly without unnecessary transform behavior.
2. Incremental font size controls:
Please add easier “step-by-step” font size increase/decrease buttons (for example small arrows beside font size) so users can quickly adjust text size gradually without typing values manually.
3. Font menu placement:
When changing fonts, the font list appears over the artboard and covers the design and text itself. It would be much better if the font list appeared as a side panel or floating panel away from the artboard area.
4. Easier grouping from Move Tool:
Grouping layers currently feels unnecessarily complicated. It would be very helpful if users could simply select multiple layers visually using the Move Tool and instantly see a “Group” option appear at the top toolbar without needing to manually select layers in the Layers panel or use Shift combinations frequently.
5. Hover highlighting issue:
When moving the mouse over objects, Photoshop highlights layers and shows light blue outlines even before clicking or selecting them. This becomes visually distracting during design work. Please add an option to disable hover highlighting completely until the object is actually selected.
6. Arrange tools accessibility:
Important Arrange options such as:
- Send to Back
- Bring to Front
- Forward One
- Backward One
should be permanently visible and easily accessible in the top toolbar instead of being hidden in menus.
7. Transform tools accessibility:
Tools like:
- Flip Horizontal
- Flip Vertical
- Rotate Clockwise
- Rotate Counter-Clockwise
should also remain visible in the top toolbar for faster workflow.
8. Gradient Editor improvements:
The Gradient Editor starts with four color stops by default. It would be more intuitive if gradients started with only two stops automatically, while allowing users to add more manually when needed.
9. Independent gradient rotation:
When applying a gradient inside a shape, rotating the shape also rotates the gradient automatically. Please add an option to keep the gradient direction fixed independently from the object rotation.
Thank you for your efforts and continuous improvements to Photoshop.
