Roughness feature in solid gradient type in the gradient editor

Hi,

I have an idea that can potentially be a creative way to generate interesting patterns using the gradient tool.

I was inspired by the noise gradient type in the gradient editor that offers a roughness slider. This creates sharp and discrete gradient patterns at 100% roughness. However, the smoothness slider in the solid gradient type cannot be used to generate discrete patterns.

Imagine I can specify alternating discrete patterns of black and white at every increment of 10% location (using 100% roughness) and use an angle gradient to generate a "light ray effects". This can be interesting.

Thanks,

Dave Wong
