STOP CHANGING THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN WORKING FINE FOR YEARS!!!

WHAT'S THE POINT OF THAT??!?!?!? YOU'RE RUINING THE ENTIRE WORKFLOW WITH THIS!!! BRING BACK SCROLLING IN BLENDING MODE, AND I WANT THE BRIGHTNESS AND CONTRAST TO STAY EXACTLY THE WAY THEY WERE BEFORE!!!! NO ONE NEEDS THE CHANGES YOU KEEP MAKING HERE!!!

    Okay, that's your opinion. But you can't generalize that. For me the new Light/Contrast/Brightness layer is exact what I need (… and many other user too). It gives you more flexibility instead of only the two sliders for brightness and contrast. In the past you must change into the Camera Raw filter.

    And btw. I don't think the changes to the workflow can be that significant. After all, the two sliders for brightness and contrast are still there—it's just that the “Brightness” slider is now called "Exposure."

     

    Photoshop continues to evolve, and certain features change as well. That is the natural order of things. After all, the way we operate a mobile phone or a television today is different from how we did it a few years ago.

     

    PS: Don’t write all letters in capital. This is not exactly welcome here

      Hi. I’m Kritagya, the Product Manager who worked to bring new Light adjustment layer to Photoshop. Thanks for sharing your feedback, and I hear your concern about removing Brightness.

      We moved to Exposure while adding more granular controls with Highlights, Shadows, Whites, and Blacks to give users more flexibility.

      More broadly, we’re trying to make non-destructive workflows in Photoshop more powerful by bringing in new adjustment capabilities, while being mindful not to further crowd the Adjustments panel. Our goal is to bring the most useful controls together into more comprehensive adjustment layers.

      That said, I’d really like to understand where Brightness works better for your workflow and why you feel strongly about bringing it back. Your feedback will help us as we continue to iterate.

        your goal is not executed very well… 

        for me brightness works better, because i dont need to mess with so many sliders and brightness is faster and good enough for my edits

        also Light layer is not consistent, while it is not working in CMYK and other inconsistency is that you have left Brightness in Edit menu

        not to mention problems with Light layer is not standard adjustment layer and when used in bad order, it is not predictable and computing with every other adj layer


        legacy option also not well executed, because it is not persistent

        and last one - there is no mention about backwards compatibility of Light layer

        best solution would be separate Brightness adj layer and separate Light, otherwise you just ruining others work with such masive changes… there are so many changes complicating workflows and operating PS, and on other hand so many not fixed old bugs and so mayn new bugs, like broken CMS now and still not fixed, which is really problem

          What about scrolling in Blend Modes are you missing? 

          Please provide a meaningful description of the problem (ideally with screenshots or a screen recording).

          it is simple - you cant go through blend modes with arrow keys like before, now you only have to use mouse to scroll blend modes to see effect, which is not so efficient as older behavour

            Works fine for Adobe Photoshop 27.10.0 on Mac OS 14.6.1

            I can’t check 27.10, as I reverted to 27.9.1 following the issues with colour management. However in the Beta version (27.11) The ‘Light’ adjustment layer can be reverted to the legacy Brightness and contrast by going to the top right of the Properties panel (with ‘Light’ adjustment layer open) and choosing the ‘Light version’.

            Please don’t type all capitals, it is hard to read and is generally taken as shouting.
