Text Slide: Fit to Text Box & Copy & Paste
- Request: add two capabilities to the text feature of Photoshop:
- Auto Fit: Automatically have the text resized so that it can fit within the existing text box.
- Copy & Paste: Enable copy and paste from other programs (Word or Pages) into the text box where the existing formatting will be maintained.
- Issue: It requires multiple steps to create text boxes without these two features
- Workflow Impact: A text box can be created in 1/3rd the time (assuming a full text box) if these features are enabled. Most programs have these: Microsoft, Google, and Apple.
- Basic steps to reproduce the problems: Create a text box covering the canvas on 1920 x 1080. Type text that can be over 1 ½ of this text box. The customer must resize the text box grab the handles and position them to fit the corners on both sides. Secondly, when a customer copies and pastes already formatted text from Word it has to be completely reformatted. Underlining takes an especially long time.
