Utilization of the Apple Pencil pro’s capabilities in the iOS app

Having enjoyed photoshop on windows, I decided to have a go at trying it on IpadOS, using the Apple Pencil feels great. I am a fan of the general interface too, however, ( and please tell me I'm not the only one experiencing this ) I am unable to utilize the Apple Pencil pro fully. I checked the input slide in the apps settings and was excited to see It's built-in double tap feature there. It is supposed to be super handy in making workflow faster, switching to eraser, undo, etc. but for some reason it just won't respond to it when I try. Other art based apps already have this integrated and optimized. Was really, really hoping the photoshop app would follow. Would make for a much better experience.
