Vanishing Point Improvements

I guess this post is kind of a long ramble of what features of vanishing point I believe need improvement, as well as an open discussion. Perhaps there are some features and options that I am unaware of or am not using correctly. I am open to any advice/feedback that anybody is willing to give.
I love using vanishing point, but it feels terribly underdeveloped. The features are so limited, and I wonder if they have to be? Or if I am missing something?
GRID SIZE
For example: I am working with a 3-D cube raster image that I have designated in my mind to be 24" x 24". I have set my two planes, and all I want to do is subdivide my plane grids into 24 x 24 grids so I can lay grout lines for a sheet of tile with the correct perspective spacing and size difference.
To achieve this is a lot more difficult than you'd think.
I have attempted to adjust grid size and play with extending the plane so my grid lines up to the edges of my cube, but I just can't get it to work. I'll get the X axis to be divided into 24 parts but then the Y axis is divided into, for example, 26 parts. Adjust the Y axis and then the X is off. Just feels like there is a lack of control there.
I'm not sure what the grid size units even are... are they by pixel? Are they a percentage? Maybe if I knew what they were, it would help. I can't seem to find that information anywhere...
It would still be nice to have more control over that as well so adjusting the grid size is less of a guessing game.
GRID RENDER
I was able to get one face of the cube to be divided into a 24x24 grid at grid size 121 (121 what? who knows...not me), but then I have to potentially use a different grid size in order for the other face of the cube to do the same? It would be nice to have control over which grids we can render to photoshop, instead of rendering all grids and then having to erase one you don't want. Perhaps a layers panel within vanishing point?
ZOOM
The zoom is strange compared to how Photoshop functions outside of vanishing point. No smooth, click and drag zoom? Only single click and box zoom?
Say a plane node is outside of the field of the image, and I want to zoom in close and move it while zoomed in. That is impossible. I would have to find a workaround, which feels unecessary considering Photoshop is able to do this in its regular workspace to a degree.
BRUSH
Again, I am not sure what units the diameter is. Is it pixels?
No eraser? No layers? Being able to draw with the thickness working in perspective is so incredibly useful, but having to erase outisde of the vanishing point window kinda sucks.
It would also be nice to be able to change the color of the grid. Sure, I can render the grid into a layer and then change the color there, but it would be nice to be able to change the grid color in the vanishing point window. What if my subject is the same or similar shade of blue as my grid? It would be difficult to see.
If anybody reads this and has any advice for the problems I am running into, feedback would greatly be appreciated. Otherwise, this is just my attempt of bringing possible improvements for vanishing point to Adobe's attention.
