Add 90degree batch rotation for importing vertical shot videos

Videos shot vertically on DSLR cameras are recorded as 16:9 ratio. When imported to premiere, they display 90degrees sideways. There needs to be a way to simply batch rotate these videos 90 degrees to 9:16 ratio.

This workaround isn't great when you need to select only clip fragments before adding them on timeline. Now you're looking at 16x9 preview with 9x16 cropped clip...

Honestly, I switch to free app called CapCut more and more often these days.

2023, portrait mode is so common and Adobe Premiere doesn't have this essential tool?

This is a basic function and should be available.

Nice but isn't it the same as using the Rotation in the Motion effect ?

There is an extension on Adobe Exchange for this:
https://exchange.adobe.com/creativecloud.details.108423.mirror-and-rotate-video-toolbar.html

It's basically a toolbar that allows rotating videos by 90°. Videos can be batch rotated, by selecting all clips at once.

There is some documentation on this extension here: https://vakago-tools.com/rotate-video-toolbar/

Yes. Need this at the "interpret footage" level or similar. should not have to pull everything into a sequence just to flip it.

I need this! Yes, you can copy-paste attributes to rotate on the timeline, but I don't want to have to put all my clips on the timeline. I shot 211 vertical clips and just want to preview them and decide which ones to keep. If I could simply rotate them in the project panel that would make it so much easier.

can't paste atributes in source files, only in timeline... Every time i want to pick in and out points in the footage I have to tilt my head, my neck will break soon!!! 😞

Hey you guys, I figured out a way to do the batch rotation! Once you have your clips in your sequence, select the first one and rotate the clip properly. Then, copy that clip, select the rest of your clips you need to rotate, right click and select "Paste Attributes" and it will paste the effects/changes you made to that first clip onto the rest of the clips! Hope you guys see this!

As vertical videos as more and more asked by our clients and used on social media platform, this should be a must-have feature !
