Add shortcut for swap clips

In DaVinci Resolve there is the functions "Swap clips towards right/left" so you can easily change the order of clips. This is very useful in the editing process and good for organizing. You can swap clips by command-drag in Premiere Pro but that's very slow and impractical.

Shortcuts for swapping are an essential function, and it’s quite shocking Premiere Pro lacks it. Because this important functionality is missing, I can't really go over to Premiere Pro as the main editing program, DaVinci Resolve simply is so much quicker to edit with.

Be sure to upvote this thread, that's the big number up top, left of the thread name (on a desktop). That's what catches the eyes of the Devs. It would be a very good feature to do without using the mouse.

Adding my +1 here as well.

Shortcut to move + swap clips on timeline is super useful and missing. CMD + Option + Drag on Mac works, but this means that I have to use mouse and keyboard to preform this action. I would love to be able to select a clip with D, and then move it left / right and swap places with other clips. Super convinient to organise the timeline without need for a mouse.

Per your thread, it's working for me in Windows 11, PP 24.5. Ctrl+Alt+drag.

This doesn't work for me. 2020 M1 Mac, latest PP. Cmd + drag gives me the cursor like Ann posted but without the curved arrow pointing back. It's just two bars and an arrow in between. And the shots don't swap.

If I have to drag it, I don't really see it as a shortcut. Or do you mean that these symbols/functions you show also are possible to be customized as shortcuts? I can't find them or their name in the Keyboard shortcut window.

No, they're not shortcuts. These are the icons that appear when you start dragging the clip holding Ctrl/Cmd

I was going to say that you can just simply Ctrl/Cmd click-and-drag but I see this is too long for you 😉
