Adobe Removed Creative Cloud Files, Now Charges Extra for Frame.io Storage

Frame.io storage should be included as part of Adobe Creative Cloud storage, not treated as yet another paid extra. Adobe previously offered Creative Cloud Files as part of the subscription, a feature they have since largely phased out. Now, rather than providing a proper replacement within the existing subscription, they’re charging customers additional fees for Frame.io storage.

It feels like a real kick in the teeth for loyal Creative Cloud subscribers who are already paying a significant amount each month. Frame.io is so closely integrated into Adobe’s ecosystem that its storage should be part of the package, not another opportunity to squeeze more money out of customers. It increasingly feels like we’re paying more while getting less.

    Clarification edit:

Just to clarify, Frame.io only provides 2GB of storage on its free tier and operates on a separate subscription model, with plans such as Free and Pro.

Despite being an Adobe product, Frame.io storage is not included in the 100GB of cloud storage that Creative Cloud subscribers already pay for.

This means that if you want to upload videos, share them with collaborators, and collect feedback, you may need to pay for additional Frame.io storage, even if you have plenty of unused Creative Cloud storage.

None of your Frame.io uploads count towards your existing 100GB allowance. It's an entirely separate storage system with an additional cost.

Considering Adobe previously offered Creative Cloud synced files before discontinuing that service, it feels particularly frustrating that we're now being asked to pay again for storage to support a core creative workflow. It really feels like we're being charged twice for services that should be integrated into the subscription we're already paying for.

Can you comment on how storage works for frame.io in PR?

I believe Creative Cloud subscribers currently receive 100GB of data automatically (at no extra cost). Is that not enough for you?
    現在Creative Cloud契約者には自動で100GB(追加料金無料)が使用できると思うのですがそれでは少なすぎる、ということでしょうか?

Frame.io gives you 2gb  of storage and has separate tiers like free, or pro. It is not included in the creative cloud subscribers 100gb of data. You have to pay again to upload your videos, share with collaborators for feedback, it doesnt go against the 100gb.

(when I’m working with high quality video 2gb is basically one upload of a video, let alone multiple versions of that video which is needed as I collaborate with clients.)
