Alt+Scroll should be remapped to just Scroll (zooming in on timeline)

How it is right now: If you want to zoom in on a timeline, you press Alt+Scroll. If you want to move timeline left/right to go over your project, you just Scroll.

How I want it to be: Scroll to zoom in, Alt+Scroll to move left/right (reversing keys)

From my experience, zooming in is much more important than just moving left/right. I recorded myself editing and 80% of the time I would zoom in, and 20% move left/right. I say we change that and prioritize zooming in.

Alt Scroll is a relatively hard combination. You need to stretch your thumb in a way that leaves your left hand disjointed from the keyboard and then you need to readjust it after pressing Alt.

Zooming in is one the most basic element of editing and navigating timeline! If you change it, efficiency and fluidity of work will substiantially increase.

Haha I’m always doing the alt +scroll to scroll dance, funny to see someone else in a video doing it as quickly and intuitively as I would do. I feel like I would get rekt with muscle memory changing now but I’m definitely for there being an OPTION to change the behaviour, either to your method or the default.

The devs need to learn people want more options rather than limiting to just one way, and this is a great example so I’ll give you a vote!

Other NLE’s have dedicated timeline zoom in/out keyboard shortcuts regardless of which panel is active… I’m a big keyboard guy, would rather not touch the mouse unless necessary. Really miss that with PR.
