An option to revert the Mouse scroll change Program Monitor

In the latest 24.4 version of Premier Pro, you can zoom in and out by mouse-scrolling on the program monitor.

This is good for those who want to add effects precisely but not for editing at a fast speed

I really hope there's a way to revert the change so my productivity goes back to 100%

I want to scroll in time with mouse wheel while I am manipulating masks and position in the program monitor. Moving my mouse defeats the purpose. I hate how the needs of broadcast video editors is just thrown away. Been trying to cope but even month later, this is crazy. little by little, it feels like the Final Cut X debacle.

Thanks so much, Kevin!

I'll be sure to give that a try, although it sounds like I'm still going to be running into accidental movement that I'll have to then stop and reset when what I'm really seeking is the ability to lock or disable any of those settings. Seems like the best way to please both sets of users would be to make it an easy customization like that?

See if the slight adjustment they made to the workflow in Beta works better for you. There, you need to press a modifier to zoom in and out. Bumping the mouse, merely pans the image off center a little. It's less jarring, even though the issue is still not completely satisfactory for some. I'll keep advocating for this request.

Thanks,
Kevin

I would really love a little "lock" icon next to the "Fit" that locks the Zoom Level. Editing with an Apple Magic Mouse and the accidental zoom level change is constant. Very, very frustrating.

I think in not-a-long-time, you could get used to the somewhat smaller, lower scrolling area to use your tried and true method. It's unlikely that is ever going back to moving the mouse over the entire monitor. So, otherwise, you'd be stuck with the older version, and there are many good things coming in updates, you could likely use.

You can still advance frames using the mouse wheel, but you need to have your cursor over the time ruler in the Program Monitor.

Which emerging software? I've heard of a couple ones built largely around AI features, but they are fast at a few things, and simply have no capability for many other things typically used in editing workflows. So useful only in limited, specific projects.

Actually, compared to emerging editing software, Premiere has very limited features and lacks pre-built effects. Yet, we still spend significant time and money using Photoshop, After Effects, or plugins to create effects that other software can achieve effortlessly. But how do we regain the speed we've lost?

We're not like you. We're racing against time every second. With the rise of new editing software, this profession is becoming increasingly competitive, and even making a decent living is uncertain.

I have to tell you, we don't have the luxury of time. That's why we're here, complaining about our diminished efficiency. Meanwhile, those who do have time are already transitioning to other software. Both those speaking up here and those staying silent are leaving you behind.

Let me rephrase the question more accurately on behalf of others: How do we regain the speed we've lost?

Huh?

All of the options to move things around, create your own workspaces, are still totally there. So I'm puzzled at your comment. Compared to about any other NLE, it's amazingly customizable.

If not always as any one of us might prefer.

So if we don't have an option to decide how we want to use the mouse wheel, it also means we can't customize Premiere now, right?
