Audition-style fade handles in Premiere

Alongside easy crossfades by overlapping two clips, it's one of the biggest no-brainers that, as the years pass, can't ever seem to be implemented. What is wrong with Adobe. Not to mention it would make the transition between Audition and Premiere much more seamless...

I vote for this...

3 years onwards and it's still not implemented.

Yeah, the bezier curves are pretty much essential for customising to specific use-case scenarios. I pretty much stopped using the transition effects a long, long time ago for that specific reason.

If the transition effects had modifiable curves, that would be nice, but truthfully, a more DAW approach would be faster overall. As far as I can tell at least.

Like Darren, I agree that it's about how easy it is to create the curve and immediately manipulate the shape (to make the fade more gradual or sudden, and to extend or shorten the length).

To me, it's also about the friction of moving between different Adobe products. As someone who is moving from radio to video, it's frustrating that the UI experience is so different. The promise of Creative Cloud is that one could jump seamlessly between apps, but it's the small UX differences like this that make me feel that, as well as I know Audition, I'll never master Premiere.

Bell Curves: Like S curves? Premiere doesn't have bezier curves as far as I understand in the crossfade transitions. Good point. The different transition do have different curves though depending on in you pick exponential, constant power, or constant gain.

"faster for me than the process of click for one keyframe": You can drag the crossfades in and out points via the mouse on the timeline. You cannot change the fade shape in the same manner as Audition though. Thanks for the feedback. It is very helpful.

Unless I'm mistaken, none of the current fade effects in Premiere offer bell curves (or the customisation of the curves that we can only get from keyframes), which is why I always end up with at least one bezier keyframe at the start/end of my clips - please correct me if I'm wrong there, as that would be great.

I can only speak for myself, but being able to click once, drag to the left/right to bring the fade in and then drag up/down to manipulate the curve, is just faster for me than the process of click for one keyframe, click for a second, hold down a manipulator key, and then create some bezier handles, and then adjust the curve.

Spending a lot of time in DAWs, and then hopping into Premiere makes me miss that functionality.

So the team has a full understanding of the need here (which helps us prioritize feature requests as they come in), why do the existing fade and crossfade effects in Premiere not work? Why would we implement Audition style fades when Premiere has essentially the same functionality with a different UI?
I'm not being facetious, I am genuinely trying to understand the ask here.

I totally agree with this! It's so time consuming to create at least three keyframes before being able to drag a fade in/out you want. In Audition, this is done instantly!

Agreed! I came here to pop in a feature request for this exact thing, and then saw your post. Vote added.
