Better colour grading tools and UI. Lets vote!

Here's a list of features many users would love to see on premiere pro:

1) node-based colour grading workflow (reference davinci resolve)

2) better UI for selecting and manipulating colours (the currrent colour wheels on the lutmetri colour panel are hard to use and don't allow you to get fine-tune adjustments to colours.

3) Finding and adding luts is an annoying process on lutmetri colour panel (you have to go through all your luts in your list and view them one by one.) The list is hard to manage as well. Easy to get lost once you have a bunch of luts added to the list.

There's probably more to add to the list of improvements. Please comment below if you have any sugguestions for improvements to working with colour on Premiere Pro.

Cheers!

Hi @R Neil Haugen,

I appreciate the comments. I would like everyone here to file a feature request according to the guidelines here: How do I write a feature request? Once those posts are created, I think that is a better place to discuss the requested features in depth.

Thanks,
Kevin

As someone who works for/with/teaches pro colorists, and of course spends a lot of time in Resolve and Resolve forums, LGG and all ... I would encourage you to search the Ideas list for other post for each of your points. And upvote!

I will comment on your ideas though ...

1) I would like the ability to use the Lumetri tabs in the order I want, such as say HSL before Basic or whatever. Or use multiples of the same tab in one instance, like mulitple HSL ... and to pic-whip layers/tabs, as in Ae. Then I would not have any interest in nodal workflows.

2) The color wheels on the Lumetri panel work identical to the ones in Resolve except we don't have pivot controls in Lumetri. Which are needed.

But even in Resolve, if you want to 'cool' the shadows, you push the Lift towards cool while moving Gamma (mids) the opposite direction to keep your mids clean.

3) LUT usage in Premiere isn't as easy as it should be.

First, too many users put their LUTS in with the program's LUTs ... bad, doesn't work well.  The user added LUTs must be in the correct places, which isn't as obvious as it should be.

Second, the 'scrolling' method isn't slick and quick. Yea, that needs work period.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...

Hi @Stefan Karabelov,

Thank you for the feature requests. Unfortunately, the team does not typically approve feature requests containing multiple requests (you have three here). Please see the article here: How do I write a feature request?

I'm marking this request as declined for that reason.

Each entry requires the ability to upvote that single request. I apologize for the semantics, but I hope that makes sense.

I like your requests; please break them out one by one in three new posts. I will undoubtedly upvote and advocate for each request at that time.

I hope that they can approve them soon.

Thank You,
Kevin
