Bring Adobe Express video background remover into Premiere Pro

Adobe should bring the simple Adobe Express video background remover directly into Premiere Pro.

Premiere’s new masking system is powerful, but for basic editor needs it is too complicated. A very common task is simple: remove or isolate the background of a person or object in a video layer without manually drawing masks, assigning masks to opacity, dealing with Frame vs Clip, or using separate apps.

Adobe Express already has a simple background remover for video. Premiere Pro should have the same tool built in as a one-click effect.

Suggested implementation:

Add a Remove Background effect in Premiere Pro.

It should work like this:

  1. Select video clip.
  2. Apply Remove Background.
  3. Premiere automatically cuts out the subject and makes the background transparent.
  4. User can adjust edge softness, cleanup, spill removal, and refine mask.
  5. The transparent result should immediately reveal the video layer underneath.

This would be especially useful for podcast clips, Zoom interviews, social media edits, thumbnails, explainers, reaction videos, and picture-in-picture layouts.

The current workflow is too confusing for a basic task. Premiere needs a simple editor-friendly version: select clip → remove background → transparent background.

If Adobe Express can do this, Premiere Pro should be able to do it too.
