Do not eliminate linear wipe effect

I want to put in a request as I just saw that the linear wipe effect has now been labeled “legacy” which i’m assuming means that it will no longer be updated and will eventually be removed. I often use this effect as a way to crop a slightly out-of-level video clip to a precise percentage in order to create completely vertical and horizontal elements in my videos. 

I understand that there is the native crop option, but there is no way to change the angle of each side of the crop so this does not work. I also understand that I could use an opacity mask but this method seems cumbersome. Not sure if anyone else uses the linear wipe effect this way, but it has been a huge help to me.
