EATURE REQUEST: Text to Speech for Captioning

It would be useful to do the reverse of the great speech to text/captioning feature. If one could start with a CSV or Excel file that has start and end time column values compatible with Premiere nomenclature (e.g., 00;00;12;24), and a third column with the corresponding verbiage text for each segment, then allow import of that into a sequence in which an artificial voiceover with captioning is created at those in and out points without using a mike.  Value:  for making a rough script without going through initial voice over creation (with all of its problems, hems and haws, ums, etc.) that can be the stepping stone for a subsequent human-voiceover with a refined script.

I totally agree with that sentiment! But this would provide a way to rough out a script before showing it to collaborators,  refining it and then bringing in voice over artists to phrase it out. Right now, I'm roughing the script and timing using Excel, then with Excel's text to speech feature (monotone), routing the output directly into PPro, cutting it amd editing as needed, then creating captions for others to review as a first draft. Just an idea that spares me from trying to create a first-voice over that parallels the video clips.

That sounds like a great feature request. Thanks for taking the time to create the post. I've added my vote.

Thanks,
Nishu

Ai voice over? Nah, nothing beats a real voice with intonation.
