Effects control panel, limit playback to selected clip

In the effects control window we can limit the playback to the selected clip while only playing audio.

Please make this also possible with video ( or video+audio)

Most of the time you set video keyframes in this panel.

It's then very annoying that you lose the pointer because it's goes on to the next clip.

This also happens when you drag a keyframe to the end of the selected clip....

So my

Idea

- when effectscontrol window is active limit playback to the selected clip (pref setting)

(or use the audio button also for video)

- when timeline is selected play everything

When Pin to clip is selected you can't scrub outside the range of the Effect control window.

Playback however goes one to next clip.

If you have Sequence > follow playhead set, at stop the effect control window selects another clip.

That can be a problem while tuning effects...

That's a good one, that seems to work!

(This is found in the options of the effect control window)

I can play to the first frame of the next clip, that should not happen however.

I tested this with 2 colorbar clips in the timeline,

On the first I applied a blur.

When play through the Effect control window, you can play to the first clip of the second clip...

But what happens when you extend playback beyond the bounds of clip with Pin to Clip turned on and off? What would the best solution for that scenario if playback is limited to clip selected? I'm not saying your idea is bad but I am curious

The point is, when you are working with a single clip in Effects Control, playback should be limited to that single clip. Shouldn't have to set In and Out points. Going in to Effects control is for working primarily on a single clip. When you click back on timeline, then allows for playing all clips from the CTI. I believe it would also help with Go To Next Keyframe when transitions are involved. Now the system will jump past the last keyframe on a clip...moving to the next clip.

You know you can use the mark selection command and set in and out points to a selected clip and playback in to out
