Expand Title Layers Inline in Timeline for Precise Timing Control
Product: Adobe Premiere Pro
Category: Titles / Graphics / Timeline Workflow
Description:
In the current titling workflow in Premiere Pro (2025), titles created via the Properties panel can contain multiple layers (text, shapes, images). However, when placed in the timeline, the title appears as a single clip, and there is no way to visually manage the timing of individual layers directly within the timeline.
How this would help my workflow:
Being able to double-click a title clip in the timeline to expand it inline, revealing all its individual layers as separate tracks (similar to a nested sequence or multicam clip), would allow for precise control over layer timing, appearances, and transitions.
This would be especially useful for:
- Animating the opacity or position of each layer with keyframes.
- Staggering the appearance of text elements or shapes.
- Syncing title elements with audio or visual cues in the main timeline.
Currently, working in the Effect Controls panel is limiting and unintuitive for complex titles. Having a visual timeline for each layer — without needing to go to After Effects — would greatly improve efficiency and creative flexibility.
Request:
Please consider adding the ability to expand title clips inline in the timeline, showing each layer as a separate track with its own timing and keyframes. This would make Premiere Pro’s titling workflow more powerful and intuitive, especially for editors working on dynamic, multi-layered graphics.
