I wanted to export my transcript in an editable form such as notepad or word doc. Am I missing how to do this? I don't know how to open a .prtranscript file and can't find anything on it. I want to be able to take the script out of premiere and make changes.

I don't see why it has to be a format that isn't basically plain text.

I wanted to export this so that the client could check they are happy with the transcription, before I proceed to stage 2 which is setting it into captions.

Would anyone have a sample project with info inside they'd like to export ? To see what would be feasible

Completely agree with all comments. It's clearly getting there, but why there's no export of all fields (transcript, timecode and speaker name) which clearly reside ion the software as a plain text or .csv file yet I have no idea... it'll be a game-changer when we get it!

When you export to CSV, you the Speaker Name, Time Stamps, and text...

"Speaker Name","Start Time","End Time","Transcript"
"Ben Parker","00:00:00:08","00:00:06:24","I'm going to record to the computer, because last time I tried to record to the cloud and I didn't have space there."
"Ricardo Hinojosa","00:00:06:24","00:00:08:12","Yeah. Yeah,"

Apparently this feature has been added in v22 - you need Catalina for this on a Mac or Win 10 on a Windows

Sorted, you can now "Export to text file" the transcript in the menu (3 dots) - Thanks!

Agreed, please allow export to .txt or .doc as shown in the transcript window with speakers and timecode. It would be so helpful.

For now I just export an SRT and copy that into a doc, but the formatting of it is very bad compared to a normal transcript.

I think the new text to speech function in Premiere is a really good new feature. It saves me tons of work. BUT 🙂
The prtranscripts should contain TC and speakers names but can only be used in Premiere? Why?
