Feature request - Auto track targeting (like in Avid)

Introduce an "Automatic Track Targeting" feature in Premiere Pro to streamline the editing process, similar to the functionality available in Avid Media Composer. This feature would dynamically adjust track targeting based on user actions, improving efficiency and reducing manual intervention.

For example if the "Source" is on V1 and you want it to go to V4 in the Program, instead of clicking and dragging the V1 up you can simply click V4 and V1 will automatically move up. This is a huge time saver. This feature in Avid can be toggled on and off depending on user preference.

Below is a Youtube link to the feature I am talking about:

Thanks!

Seconding this. Auto track targeting is one of the last actually useful Avid features Premiere still lacks. Add it and there’s basically no reason to stick with Avid anymore. Time to retire the dinosaur.

Ok thanks. Sorry to bother on that one but I saw another person mention something similar in another support thread didn't get a reply when asking about that either. I didn't know if there was something I had missed.

So @Ann Bens can you please expand on what you meant about this feature in the beta? Where is it? What are you seeing? Thank you.

As an Avid editor as well I do understand this feature requset and it would be nice to have. But do you know about and have you mapped the shortcuts to move sources up and down? This shortcut is something that Avid doesn't have an personally I've come to like it better as I can usually achive the patching faster than the Avid auto-patching method.

@Ann Bens ... I do not see anythign in the beta that allows for this. What do you mean?
