Feature Request — Indonesian Transcription Support (or SRT-as-Transcript for Text-Based Editing)
I'd like to request Indonesian language support for Premiere Pro's Text-Based Editing / auto-transcription feature.
Currently, auto-transcription doesn't support Indonesian, which means Indonesian-language creators can't use the transcript panel to text-edit their footage (e.g., deleting a line in the transcript to cut the corresponding clip from the timeline).
If native Indonesian transcription isn't feasible in the near term, an alternative would be very helpful: allow users to import an existing .srt subtitle file and have it populate the Transcript panel, just as auto-generated transcripts do. This would let us:
- Bring in Indonesian subtitles created elsewhere
- Use the transcript/text panel to edit — deleting a caption line removes the matching clip from the sequence
- Get the same editing speed benefits English-language users already have
This would be a big workflow improvement for Indonesian and other underserved-language creators using Premiere. Thanks for considering it!
