Feature Request: Scanning for Audio Plugins

For users who might have VSTI plugins along with sound editing plugins such as Izotope,

when you scan for audio plugins VSTI plugins cause the the scanning process to slow to a

crawl due to incompatibility issues with Premiere.

I would suggest when an audio plugin times out due to incompatibiliy,

a dialgue box appears after x Sec'/Min of timeout giving the user the opportunity

to select Ignore or Continue Scanning to speedup the process of loading and detecting

audio plugins. By selecting Ignore the Plugin is disabled from future loading.

Sure. as you know Audio Plugins which exist in Users Program Files/Steinberg can be Audio Editing such as Izotope

as well as Virtual Musical Instrumts (VSTI) which place dll's in this folder. An example would be Ample Sound which are

virtual guitar instruments (Ample Guitar LP.dll). When Premiere scans for Audio Plugins, These plugins cause Plugin Scanning to Timeout because they are not Audio Editing plugins recognized by the scanning process. By implenting

a popuup dialogue box based on Timeout the user would be able to check Ignore which blacklists or disables the plugin

from loading Another checkbox with Continue Scanning if indeed its an Audio Editing plugin which the user wants to use and is applicable. Not all users come up against this if they dont use VSTI plugins but would greatly enhance the user experience if they do. Thank you for your reply.

@mstegner

Can Adobe provide a list of compatible plug-ins? Known incompatibilites? The current documentation is sparse.

Can you provide some example of which instruments cause this issue?
