Formal Complaint regarding the absence of Arabic Speech-to-Text support in Adobe Premiere Pro
Dear Adobe Team,
I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding a glaring omission in Adobe Premiere Pro: the continued lack of native Speech-to-Text support for the Arabic language.
It is completely unacceptable and frankly baffling that Arabic—a language spoken by approximately 450 million people worldwide and serving as an official language in over 20 countries—is entirely absent from the Speech-to-Text feature set in Premiere Pro.
In today’s digital landscape, short-form and long-form video content heavily rely on captions and automated transcriptions; virtually no video on social media is published without text elements. Yet, Adobe continues to completely ignore hundreds of millions of creators, editors, and media professionals across the Middle East and North Africa—including major cultural and economic hubs like Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, Syria, and Lebanon.
While Adobe lags behind, other companies have recognized the immense importance of the Arabic-speaking market. Even smaller or international applications—such as CapCut, developed in China—have supported high-accuracy Arabic speech-to-text for a long time. Furthermore, your primary industry competitor, DaVinci Resolve, fully supports Arabic speech-to-text natively and efficiently.
Because of this stubborn oversight, countless professional video editors and production houses in the Arab world are being forced to abandon Premiere Pro altogether and permanently migrate to DaVinci Resolve.
As a loyal user who relies on professional tools, I expect a market leader like Adobe to respect its global user base and bridge this massive linguistic gap. Ignoring the Arabic-speaking creator community is no longer viable.
We urgently request that Adobe prioritize the integration of native Arabic Speech-to-Text in Premiere Pro in the immediate future to prevent further loss of creators migrating to competing platforms.
Sincerely,
A Professional Video Editor & Adobe User
