Improve Speed Ramping to Behave More Like After Effects Time Remapping

I frequently incorporate speed ramps into my work, but the current implementation in Premiere Pro makes the process unnecessarily difficult. Unlike After Effects’ Time Remapping, Premiere Pro’s speed ramping constantly changes the clip length, making it frustrating to refine the timing of edits.

Requested Improvements:

  1. Consistent Clip Length – Implement a speed ramping method that does not automatically alter the duration of the clip when adjusting speed keyframes. This would allow users to experiment with different speeds and easing without affecting the overall edit structure.
  2. Time Remap-like Behavior – Introduce an option where speed ramping functions similarly to After Effects’ Time Remap, enabling intuitive keyframing and easing without disrupting the timeline.
  3. Workflow Integration – Provide a way to achieve smooth speed adjustments without requiring Dynamic Link to After Effects. Keeping the entire process inside Premiere would streamline the editing workflow.

These improvements would significantly enhance the usability of speed ramping in Premiere Pro, making it a more flexible and intuitive tool for editors. Thank you for considering this request!

Title: Bring After Effects’ Time Remapping Graph Editor into Premiere Pro

Please give Premiere Pro the same Time Remapping and Graph Editor interface already available in After Effects.

Premiere’s current Time Remapping interface is tiny, awkward and unnecessarily difficult to control precisely. Creating speed ramps requires manipulating small split keyframes and limited Bezier handles directly inside the timeline clip. There is no proper scalable speed or value graph comparable to After Effects.

My current workaround is to select Replace With After Effects Composition and perform the time remapping in After Effects. This interrupts the editing workflow, creates additional compositions, relies on Dynamic Link and requires the frames to cache or render again before they will play smoothly. It is extremely slow for something that should be a basic editing operation inside Premiere.

Please add:

  • The same expandable Time Remapping Graph Editor used in After Effects

  • Editable speed and value graphs

  • Proper keyframes and Bezier handles

  • Precise numerical speed and source-frame control

  • Graph zooming and resizing

  • Copying and pasting of curves and easing values

  • An option to preserve the clip’s timeline duration while remapping its source frames

Adobe has already designed an excellent solution in After Effects. Please bring that same interface and functionality directly into Premiere so editors do not have to leave the application and use Dynamic Link for routine time remapping.

IT’S INSANE HOW TERRIBLE THIS BASIC FEATURE IS IN PREMIERE AND DECADES LATER U STILL HAVN’T UPDATED IT - ALL THE NEW STUFF U ADD AND U DONT’ ADD THE MOST BASIC DAILY ESSENTIALS, C’MON THIS IS RIDICULOUS NOW ADOBE!
