Increment Duplicate Sequence
Hi,
I used AE before I started editing with Premiere CC , but there is something cool about
duplicating a "composition" aka "edit" aka "sequence" in the project panel.
If you do this in AE it increments the version number your comp has. (or it generates one number)
In Premiere it adds the word copy 01 to the duplicate. (atlas in german is "Kopieren 01")
Even if my Sequence is written with a number at the end ? like "edit 01"
Why?
I can understand, that you ad copy 01 when it has no number in the end of the word
but why can't it just increment the number and leave the name of the sequence untouched.
And I would like to be able to duplicate the complete sequence from the sequence menu.
When i am editing, i like to hit a shortcut of right click on the sequence name in the sequence and get the little text: "increment duplicate now" > feel free to name it differently but it felt right to me.
1. increment duplicate by number _01 > _02 > _03
It saves a lot of time and confusion. (And it would be competetive to Avid Mediacomposer
2. duplicate sequence from the timeline and open it
This way , we are working in the copy and not in the saved sequence.
Since I am editing in PP I have so many times not worked in the correct timeline, because the way it works now , makes it really easy to make errors.
cheers Peter
