Insert Edit Using Marker Ranges

Is it possible to use Markers in such a way that they could serve as in/out point? Perhaps through some kind of script or automation?

What I'd like to be able to do is take a long clip (over an hour) with dozens of short marker ranges (1-4 seconds each) and then populate a timeline with those marker ranges. Currently, I'm going into the marked up clip and setting my ins/outs to match the marker range and then inserting, which is fairly time consuming.

Hoping there's some way to automate this process and grab all those marker ranges at once, basically treating them each as their own in/out range.

Alternately: could I potentially tell Premiere to "delete all unmarked media" somehow?

So instead of inserting all marked media at once (like I was asking above), I could instead insert the entire piece of marked media, and then eliminate anything that doesnt fall within a marker range?

I don't think Premiere has any sort of "automation" process like Photoshop does?
