Is there a way to set Premiere's import folder to the current project?

I've used Premiere Pro under Windows for several years. However, a major shortcoming, IMHO, is that Premiere's import source folder location defaults to the folder last used. As I work on many Premiere projects simultaneously, workflow would be much improved if the import source path were saved with each project. Currently, each time I switch to a different project, I have to take the time to find the source content folder associated with that project.

Prior to Premiere versions released this year, I used a wonderful third-party add-on called "Compass" which enabled Premiere to save a unique import path with each project: https://knightsoftheeditingtable.com/compass

Unfortunately, with the latest versions of Premiere, Compass no longer works. I contacted the Compass author who tells me:

"From my knowledge, import option is not supported on latest versions of Premiere Pro (API changes), that is why removed it from Compass."

Could this capability be restored to Premiere? Please? Thank you.
