keep the lumetri color panel on v27

I understand all initial frustrations with this!

I’ve worked for/with/taught pro colorists for over a decade now. Run at my desk with a full Tangent Elements panel, both in Premiere and Resolve. I railed at Adobe’s management years ago when they killed SpeedGrade and really ticked of the then-head of Premiere. While I pushed Lumetri past what most felt it could do … made it somewhat of a pride point, actually … I never liked Lumetri. I could use it hard and fast but … it wasn’t near what I could do in SpeedGrade. (Still have SpeedGrade loaded on an older machine and do use it for specific things a couple times a year.)

I also work with the Tangent people on their panels at times.  And as someone noted for color working, and for Premiere training and advice, I was one of the fist invited into the Color Mode private beta well over a year ago.

The creator of that completely new way of approaching color had a good laugh on seeing me walk up to the Adobe booth at NAB … “Do you remember your first reaction to Color Mode?” 

Oh yeah … it was a zoom call, and my reaction was pretty much along the lines of what in Hades was this hot mess of … smelly doo supposed to do.

But over time they 1) added a ton of new tools processes and capabilities and 2) I finally understood how to approach it … and what do I think now?

The new color mode is freaking brilliant in concept and design and blasting fast at doing amazing stuff past what I can do in either Lumetri or Resolve.

And … that’s before they add in new and improved LUT usage stuff and control surface links so I can use my Elements panel. 

BUT … you do have to learn a new way of doing color … the order you work in and how you approach it both are quite different.

I have not yet tried this in the beta. Does it give you all the functionality as before?  Can you do things like colour matching?  I am not against the new colour workflow - I have tried it and not got too far but obviously need time to get to know it.  It might be better, might not - for example I could not see any automatic colour matching for example.  But as it takes time to learn you need to keep the existing one going for quite a bit of time so people have time to learn it. 

If you add the lumetri effect and open the Properties Panel > effects you get your panel back
