Keyboard shortcut for Effects & Presets PLEEEEEASE!!! : )

Hello. I'd like to see a master key to assign effects OR a way to map effects and presets to the keyboard using the Keyboard Shortcut tool.

I've submitted this request before having come from Final Cut Pro and it was a huuuuuge time saver for me in the editing process as I used this feature on FCP multiple multiple times on every single edit I did, every day, and I can't imagine others would not have the same reason for using it as me and I likely very frustrated at how long it takes to apply the Warp Stabiliser effect, for example, to a clip or a series of clips. This is a very consistent task that I do in every edit and many many times in each edit usually. I'm sure I'm not the only person who is constantly adding warp stabiliser to shots by dragging the thing onto every clip and then setting the smoothness percentage. I can't even manage to just select every clip I want to throw the stabiliser on to and then copy paste a version of the effect that I've set the smoothness percentage for. This can't be unusual. Any clip shot handheld with a dslr will need this, just about, if you want to get rid of that minor jitter. Many dslr users out there you reckon..?

I would love to see this, it is a massive massive time saver and I'm confident many many editors would need this feature for the same reason.

I also would love to see functionality so that when you stop your playhead over a clip during playback or by moving the playhead that it automatically selects that clip so that it's settings are ready to play with in the effect controls window. This seems so basic common sense to me to me and I'm trying not to get angry because I know you are good people in there, but it seems some mind numbingly obvious to me as an editor that you would want the clip that you are now looking at to be the one that is selected and presenting it parameters in the effect controls window. FCP did this automatically. PP will do this when the Lumetri Colour window is open...why not for Effect Controls??

Thank you, I appreciate you listening to my rant. I would be over the moon with these changes!!

I just bought an Elgato streamdeck and was so disappointed that you can't even map the effects...

It´s even worse when they advertise last update with an "you talked, we
listened" to add Arri raw compatibility, ok, it will be industry standard,
but that´s something that maybe 1000 people will need, they have a hundred
million users and more than 25000 employees.-- this is nuts...

This is such a simple request. Why is Adobe ignoring its users? I need this preset shortcut.

I love Adobe, but Adobe CC has been really going downhill lately. With this large subscription price, they seem to be getting quite complacent. And they'll wonder why they lost all there subs to Resolve.

Please, this is a must have for all of us dealing day to day with this problem, because nowadays its not a feature request is a functionality needed, if you wait more days CANVA will have that feature 🙂

This needs like 10 million votes. I have a standard set of transitions and FX that I use for almost every animation I do. Mapping a couple of them to shortcuts would be amazing. The few seconds and keystrokes it saves would really streamline my process. And it's not just about saving increments of time but also making the whole experience more seamless and less labor intensive. I do A LOT of After Effects work and it's getting really monotonous. I'm trying to consolidate as many things into shortcuts as possible just to make life easier.

ABSOLUTELY THIS!

for those of us who do this for a living, the ability (even through a customizable pallette) an effect to a KB shortcut would save HUNDREDS of hours a year.

Keyboard shortcuts for effects and presets: 665 votes

New Export interface that introduced over a dozens new bugs rather than fixing the 2-3 bugs of the perfectly adequate previous interface: 0 votes

Guess which one of these the Pr team decided to give us...
Yup, that's Adobe for you, a multi-billion dollar company with complete disregard for its users!

Just as a reminder, YOU DON'T NEED TO WAIT forever for the Pr team to give us this basic functionality. You can get all of this and more with the Excalibur plugin starting today! https://knightsoftheeditingtable.com/excalibur

It works amazingly well and I've already created dozens of keyboard shortcuts and macros with it. Since using it, I almost never use the Effect window anymore. Keyboard shortcuts are SO much faster!

Here are some examples of my keyboards shortcuts created with Excalibur:

Crop - Ctrl+Shift+C
Blur - Ctrl+Shift+B
Warp Stabilizer (50%) - Ctrl+Shift+W
Warp Stabilizer Lite (5% preset) - Ctrl+Alt+W
Show Guides - Alt+G (works no matter which window is active!)
Show Rulers - Alt+R (works no matter which window is active!)
Activate Direct Manipulation in Program Monitor - M (works no matter which window is active!)

RESIZE ALL selected clips:
Increase by 1%: Ctrl+Shift+=
Increase by 10%: Ctrl+Shift+Alt+=

Decrease by 1%: Ctrl+Shift+-
Decrease by 10%: Ctrl+Shift+Alt+-

MOVE ALL selected clips:
Left by 5 points - Ctrl+Shift+Left Arrow
Left by 25 points - Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Left Arrow

Right by 5 points - Ctrl+Shift+Right Arrow
Right by 25 points - Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Right Arrow

Up by 5 points - Ctrl+Shift+Up Arrow
Up by 25 points - Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Up Arrow

Down by 5 points - Ctrl+Shift+Down Arrow
Down by 25 points - Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Down Arrow

Anyway, I think you get the point!

Excalibur not only allows you to assign shortcuts to ALL of your effects, transitions and presets, but it also allows you to 'fix' the horrendously crippled shortcuts that Adobe gives us such as 'Show Guides' and 'Show Rulers' that ONLY work if a specific window is active. With simple 2-3 step macros, you can fix these poorly designed shortcuts so that they work no matter which window is active! (see illustration for my solution to fix the "Activate Direct Manipulation in Program Monitor" shortcut that idiotically only works if the Timeline is the active window)

The bottom line is we need to depend on 3rd party plug-ins to fill in the gaps since the Pr team simply cares more about their ego-driven pet projects than they care about us users. I can't imagine using Pr without Excalibur. It's a massive time (and sanity) saver!

Come on Adobe! It's time to make this happen!
